De Italiaanse kampioen Giovanni Visconti rijdt vanaf 2012 voor Movistar. Hij verlaat het ProContinentale ISD na drie jaar.
De 28-jarige Visconti triomfeert al langer in het eendagswerk. Bij Movistar keert hij terug naar het hoogste wielerniveau.
De Italiaan schreef in zijn profcarrière 18 koersen en drie Italiaanse titels op zijn palmares. Visconti was ook twee seizoenen actief bij Quick-Step, maar daar kon hij geen potten breken.
