De Australische Jelena Dokic (WTA-91), in een ver verleden nog het nummer 4 van de wereld, heeft zondag het toernooi in Kuala Lumpur gewonnen. Het is haar eerste WTA-titel sinds Birmingham in 2002.
De 27-jarige Dokic versloeg in de finale de Tsjechische Lucie Safarova (WTA-35) met 2-6, 7-6 (11/9), 6-4. Het is haar zesde titel op dertien finales.
