De Servische Jelena Jankovic (WTA 18) heeft zich maandag in Parijs gekwalificeerd voor de kwartfinales van Roland Garros. De Amerikaanse Jamie Hampton (WTA 54) ging in twee sets met 6-0 en 6-2 voor de bijl.
Jankovic, het 18e reekshoofd en in 2008 nog 's werelds nummer een, ontmoet in de kwartfinales de Russische titelverdedigster Maria Sharapova (WTA 2).
