Marcel Kittel (Skil-Shimano) heeft woensdag de eerste etappe in de 57e editie van de Vierdaagse van Duinkerke gewonnen. Na 180,6 kilometer van Duinkerke naar Orchies was de 22-jarige Duitser de snelste in een massasprint.
De Rus Denis Galimzyanov finishte als tweede, de Italiaan Giacomo Nizzolo als derde. Kittel is ook de eerste leider.
