De Tsjech Filip Ospaly kroonde zich tot winnaar. Hij legde de triatlon over halve afstand af in 3u46:01. De Australiër Chris McCornack (3u47:00) en de Duitser Andreas Raelert (3u47:28) eindigden als tweede en derde.
Vanhoenacker had een tijd van 3u49:18 nodig om te finishen.
