Middenspeler Matias Raymaekers keert na acht jaar buitenland terug naar Maaseik, de volleybalclub waarvoor hij drie seizoenen (2002-2005) speelde. Dat meldt de Limburgse club vrijdag op haar website.
De 31-jarige Raymaekers, 2,07m lang, begon zijn carrière bij Averbode. Na zijn periode bij Maaseik speelde hij onder meer voor de Italiaanse clubs Valentia, Macerata, Corigliano en Padova, en voor de Russische clubs Novosibirsk en Belgorod. Tot voor kort trad de international aan voor het Duitse Unterhaching.
