Michel Preud'homme (53) heeft zich zaterdag met Al Shabab tot landskampioen van Saoedi-Arabië gekroond. Daarvoor volstond een punt (1-1) bij titelconcurrent Al Ahli.
Voor Preud'homme kwam er dus geen herhaling van vorig jaar. Toen verspeelde de ex-doelman als coach van FC Twente in extremis de titel in Nederland door op de slotspeeldag te verliezen van Ajax.
