Michel Preud'homme wordt al zeker niet de nieuwe bondscoach van Saudi-Arabië. Dat land heeft Ricardo aangesteld. De Braziliaan raakte het eens over een verbintenis voor drie jaar.
De Belgische succescoach lijkt FC Twente, dat hij naar bekerwinst leidde, te gaan verlaten. Naast de interesse van de Saudische topclub Al Shabab aasde ook de nationale ploeg op de voormalige Rode Duivel.
De 46-jarige Ricardo was als speler actief bij PSG. Zijn hoofddoel wordt de kwalificatie voor het wereldkampioenschap van 2014 in Brazilië.
