De Belg, het vierde reekshoofd in Newport, versloeg in de kwartfinales de Zuid-Afrikaanse kwalificatiespeler Raven Klaasen (ATP-417) in precies 1 uur met 6-1 en 6-3.
In de halve finales neemt Rochus het op tegen de de Argentijn Brian Dabul (ATP-105), die de Jamaicaan Dustin Brown (ATP-108) klopte met 6-4 en 6-4.
Het is de eerste keer dat Rochus en Dabul tegen elkaar spelen.
