Olivier Rochus (ATP-74) heeft zich maandag voor de tweede ronde geplaatst van het ATP-toernooi in het Amerikaanse Newport.
Onze 30-jarige landgenoot versloeg de Australiër Greg Jones (ATP-219) met 6-4, 3-6 en 6-3.
In de tweede ronde neemt zesde reekshoofd Rochus, vorig jaar
finalist op het gras in Newport, het op tegen de winnaar van de partij
tussen de Argentijn Sebastien Decoud (ATP-215) en de Fransman Nicolas
Mahut (ATP-95).
