Rochus (ATP 57) en Gicquel (ATP 58) stonden in 2008 al eens tegenover elkaar in de zestiende finales in het Zweedse Baastad. Toen haalde onze landgenoot het met 6-3 en 6-4. Gicquel neemt het in de tweede ronde op tegen de Spanjaard Nicolas Almagro (ATP 26).
