Volgens het Nederlandse NRC Handelsblad waren Marco Pantani, Michele Bartoli en Romans Vainsteins klanten van de Spaanse dopingarts Eufemiano Fuentes.
Zij stonden respectievelijk onder de codenamen Panticosa, Sansone en Vains in zijn schriftjes vermeld. De krant onthulde eerder dat Thomas Dekker, Luis Leon Sanchez en Remmert Wielinga bij Fuentes aanklopten.
Ze rakelt ook nog eens de link met Fränk Schleck op. Die betaalde, volgens eigen zeggen, 6.691 euro aan de arts voor trainingsadvies.
