Voormalig Gouden Schoen Mbark Boussoufa luistert voortaan naar de bevelen van Roberto Carlos. Zijn club Anzhi Makhachkala heeft de Braziliaan aangesteld als speler-trainer. Assistent-coach Andrey Gordeev blijft wel op post.
Het team uit de deelrepubliek Dagestan wees onlangs coach Gadzhi Gadzhiyev de deur. De resultaten vallen ondanks de aankopen (Samuel Eto'o, Balazs Dzsudzsak en Mbark Boussoufa) tegen. Anzhi is pas zevende. De kwalificatie voor de Champions League lijkt heel ver weg.
Roberto Carlos (38) speelt al sinds februari in Dagestan. Eerder deze maand bedankte José Mourinho al voor een aanbod van de rijke club.
