Roberto Carlos kiest op zijn oude dag voor de Russische eersteklasser Anzji Machatsjkala. Dat beweert de Braziliaanse pers. Bij die club wordt de 37-jarige linksachter ploegmakker van João Carlos (ex-Genk).
Carlos liet zijn contract bij Corinthians onlangs ontbinden. De voormalige international pikte de kritiek van de fans niet na de voortijdige uitschakeling in de Copa Libertadores.
Het team uit Dagestan zou de verdediger vijf miljoen euro betalen voor één jaar.
In 2010 werd Roberto Carlos (ex-Real Madrid) nog verkozen tot de beste linksback in Brazilië.
