De Rus Aleksandr Menkov heeft vrijdag op het WK atletiek in de Russische hoofdstad Moskou de wereldtitel in het verspringen bij de mannen veroverd.
Menkov pakte goud met een sprong van 8,56m, tevens een beste wereldjaarprestatie. Het zilver was voor de Nederlander Ignisius Geisah (8,29m). Het brons ging naar de Mexicaan Luis Rivera (8,27m).
