De organisatoren van de Scheldeprijs wrijven zich in de handen. Op de Antwerpse Grote Markt, de traditionele startplek, verzamelen op 6 april 2011 maar liefst veertien teams uit de World Tour.
Alleen Liquigas, RadioShack, Astana en Telefonica Movistar blijven als ploegen uit de hoogste divisie afwezig.
