De Amerikaanse Serena Williams (WTA 6) heeft dinsdag in de kwartfinales van Wimbledon de Tsjechische titelverdedigster Petra Kvitova (WTA 4) uitgeschakeld met 6-3 en 7-5.
In de halve finales komt ze uit tegen de Wit-Russin Victoria Azarenka (WTA 2) of de Oostenrijkse Tamira Paszek (WTA 37).
