Ottey liep in 2010 nog niet beter dan 11"84, maar de Sloveense bond vindt dat niet zo erg. Ze zit bij de vijf geselecteerden.
De atlete, die 29 medailles van grote toernooien in haar kast heeft liggen, woont sinds 1988 in het Europese land. In 2002 liet ze zich naturaliseren.
