Bondscoach Georges Leekens heeft de selectie bekendgemaakt voor de laatste EK-kwalificatiewedstrijden. Opvallende afwezigen zijn Jelle Van Damme en Silvio Proto terwijl Porto-speler Steven Defour zijn terugkeer maakt.
Op 7 oktober spelen de Rode Duivels in Brussel tegen Kazachstan. Vier dagen later moeten ze op bezoek bij de Duitsers. Om alsnog de barrages van Euro 2012 te bereiken, is België afhankelijk van de resultaten van Turkije.
