Wielrenner Tomas Vaitkus keert na een jaar alweer terug naar Astana.
De 28-jarige Litouwer reed in het voorbije seizoen voor het Amerikaanse RadioShack, waar hij ploegmakker was van Lance Armstrong.
Astana wil de snelle Vaitkus uitspelen in de voorjaarsklassiekers. In 2007 werd de Litouwer zesde in de Ronde van Vlaanderen.
De Kazachse wielerformatie wist eerder al Roman Kreuziger, Remy Di Gregorio, Simon Clarke, Mirco Lorenzetto, Francesco Masciarelli en Evgeni Petrov te strikken.
