Thomas Vermaelen is nog niet helemaal hersteld van zijn achillespeesblessure. De Arsenal-verdediger zou pas over tien dagen weer speelklaar zijn.
Vermaelen mist zo Arsenal-Birmingham op zaterdag. Een speciale dag want het is de 800ste wedstrijd van de Franse coach Arsène Wenger.
Vermaelen blesseerde zich in de interland tegen Turkije op 7 september.
