Kevin Borlée zal vermoedelijk geen finale lopen op de 400 meter op het WK atletiek in Moskou. Borlée liep zijn halve finale in een matige tijd van 45'03". Daarmee eindigde hij pas vierde en lijkt een plaats bij de beste acht heel ver weg. De reeks werd gewonnen door de Saudiër Youssef Ahmed Masrahi.
