In de strijd om de dubbeltitel bekampen Vliegen en Bopanna de Amerikanen Scott Lipsky en Rajeev Ram.
Vliegen won nooit eerder een dubbeltitel op de ATP Tour. In 2006 verloor hij wel samen met Olivier Rochus de finale van het toernooi van Stockholm.
