De Italiaan Stefano Agostini (Cannondale) is voorlopig geschorst door de Internationale Wielerunie (UCI). Bij een controle buiten competitie op 21 augustus zijn in de urine van de 24-jarige renner sporen van clostebol gevonden, zo meldt de UCI vrijdag.
Agostini, voormalig Italiaans beloftekampioen, staat voorlopig op non-actief tot hij wordt gehoord door de Italiaanse wielerbond. Hij kan ook nog een tegenanalyse aanvragen.
