Yanina Wickmayer (WTA-21) is woensdag niet voorbij de Kroatische Petra Martic (WTA-72) geraakt. In de tweede ronde van het WTA-tornooi van Cincinnati verloot onze 21-jarige landgenote in drie sets.
Wickmayer won de eerste set nog met 6-3, maar kwam daarna te kort tegen Martic. De Kroatische haalde de volgende sets naar zich toe met tweemaal 2-6.
In de achtste finales krijgt Martic sowieso een Russische tegenstandster: Ekaterina Makarova (WTA-40) of de als tweede geplaatste Vera Zvonareva (WTA-2)
