Xavier Malisse (ATP 48) speelt in de eerste ronde van het ATP-toernooi in het Amerikaanse Memphis (hardcourt/1.212.750 dollar) tegen de Amerikaanse qualifier Donald Young (ATP 200).
Het wordt het eerste duel tussen beide mannen. Bij winst treft Malisse in de tweede ronde de Oekraïnse qualifier Illya Marchenko (ATP 146) of het Japanse vijfde reekshoofd Kei Nishikori (ATP 22).
