In haar wedstrijd in de derde ronde was Whoopie Wickmayer sterker dan de Kroatische Petra Martic (WTA-74). Na één uur en twintig minuten spelen, stond er twee keer 6-3 op het scorebord.
Om in de kwartfinales te raken, moet Wickmayer in de volgende ronde voorbij de Zwitserse Timea Bacsinszky (WTA-54) of de jonge Sloveense Polona Hercog (WTA-51).
