Yanina Wickmayer heeft het WTA-toernooi van het Nieuw-Zeelandse Auckland niet kunnen winnen. Onze landgenote moest het onderspit delven tegen de Hongaarse Greta Arn.
Het was de tweede WTA-finale voor de 31-jarige Arn (WTA-88). Ze bleek te sterk voor titelverdedigster Wickmayer (WTA-23). De Hongaarse won in twee sets: 6-3 en 6-3.
De 21-jarige Wickmayer heeft al drie WTA-toernooien op haar palmares staan: Estoril in Portugal, Linz in Oostenrijk en Auckland.
