“Maar als je gaat”, zingt moeder Conny Brooks uit het West-Vlaamse Tielt. Zij gaat ervoor hoewel ze weet hoe moeilijk het is om voet aan grond te krijgen in de pure schlagerij. Conny prijst zich overal aan en heeft zo al een pak optredens kunnen versieren. Absolute steun en toeverlaat daarbij is haar echtgenoot.
