In een poging om dichter bij BMW te geraken in de verkoopslijstjes besluit Audi om RS-modellen sneller te lanceren. In plaats van gemiddeld vier jaar te wachten op een RS-derivaat van een model opteren ze nu om er maar twee jaar over te laten gaan.
