De DS 5LS is Citroëns eerste berline in de DS-lijn. Niet zonder reden introduceert Citroën hem in China, waar de kopers gek zijn van dit soort modelvormen. Hij moet daar de concurrentie aangaan met de Audi A3 Berline en Mercedes CLA, er wacht hem dus een zware taak.
