Sinds lange tijd is Lamborghini wat terughoudender in de racerij. Zopas kondigde het merk met de stier in het logo echter aan terug actiever te gaan deelnemen aan de autosport. Zo is er deze Gallardo GT3 FL2, die het begin is van een vijfjarenplan. De wagen is gebaseerd op de van de Gallardo.
