BMW is aan het schudden in de modelbenaming en zet alle coupé- en cabrio-varianten een stapje hoger. Beide varianten van heten nu 4-reeks en die van de 5-reeks heten 6-reeks. Tijd voor de 1-reeks om te verhuizen naar de 2-reeks.
