Daags nadat Ford een bom op Limburg gooide doet ze dat nog eens over op Brits grondgebied. Ze maakt bekend er twee fabrieken te sluiten, een in Southhampton en de fabriek in Dagenham. Alles samen gaat het om 1.400 jobs.
