Vanaf 1 januari 2014 neemt de 51-jarige Mary Barra het roer van General Motors over van Dan Akerson. Akerson vertrekt om privé-redenen. Barra is geen doetje, ze werkt al 33 jaar bij GM en sinds 2011 is ze eindverantwoordelijke voor productontwikkeling en kwaliteit over de hele wereld.
