Op het autosalon in Sydney heeft Mazda zoals aangekondigd de BT-50 pickup voorgesteld. Mazda brengt daarmee een heel nieuw design in haar gamma van utilitaire voertuigen. Zowel buitenom als binnenin oogt de BT-50 veel meer dan ooit als een personenwagen en de woorden 'vloeiend' en 'sportief' zijn dan ook snel te vinden in het persbericht.
Afzetmarkt bij uitstek is Azië, al zal de BT-50 ook in Europa en Australië worden gecommercialiseerd. Over de motorisaties werden nog geen details vrijgegeven.
