Stéphane Peterhansel en co-piloot Jean-Paul Cottret hebben voor de tweede keer op rij de Dakar-race gewonnen in een Mini. Ze legden het 8.500 km lange traject af in 38:32.39, een goeie 42 minuten sneller dan de nummer twee op de lijst, de Zuid-Afrikaan Giniel De Villiers.
